Coming Up – PMIs, Labour, Inflation, RBI and RBA

Stockholm (Ekonamik) – The fourteenth week of 2019 will be dominated by the publication of macroeconomic data. Most encompassingly, manufacturing, services and composite PMI’s will provide a glimpse into the ongoing economic performance of a wide range of economies across the world.

In the USA, the week will start with the publication of February retail sales figures and business inventories for January. The labour market survey from the BLS will close the week with a summary of employment and wage developments in the USA.

In the Euro-zone, the week will open with the publication of flash estimates of CPI inflation for March. Tuesday will see the publication of February unemployment rate figures. The last substantial variable to be updated will be retail sales.

Among central banks, the RBA and the RBI will announce interest rate decisions for Australia and India, on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.

The only political development scheduled for this week is a minister of the NATO foreign affairs ministers in Washington on Wednesday and Thursday. President Trump will once again be able to erode the post-WWII geopolitical status quo.
