Coming Up – Forex Reserves, China PMI, GDP, Inflation and Trade War

Stockholm (Ekonamik) – This week, the central banks of Israel, Uganda, Serbia, Peru and Sri Lanka will meet.

Datawise, among emerging markets, the main data release will be the foreign exchange reserves of Russia, China and India. In China, the release of composite PMI figures will be a prelude to Q3 GDP figures the week after. Among advanced economies, the UK will publish GDP figures while the USA will report inflation, as will Germany and Spain.

The highlights for commodity markets will be South Africa’s mining figures and the OPEC report, should it reveal anything about the productivity of Saudi Arabia oil industry.

Politically, the Eurogroup and EcFin meetings in Europe and USA-China trade talks will try to keep us focused, although we are all likely to be distracted by the Trump impeachment investigation and the President’s reactions to it.
